What type of tour is it?

We offer curated walking tours to galleries and neighborhood spots.  We take great pride in arranging our tours and connect you to the best of the arts community.

 

Are Dot Red Art Tours for all levels of art interest?

At Dot Red Art Tours, we welcome all levels of art enthusiasts. From the art lover to the art collector. Also, our tours are designed so that they cover a variety of interests and locations. We curate tours for everyone at Dot Red Art Tours. Come with an open mind and a love for art and you will enjoy our tours!

 

What’s the distance of the tours? How long do they take?

Here is a summary of what to expect in terms of mileage and duration in time for all of our art tours. Please note: the timing should serve as an estimate; the amount of time spent on tour largely depends on the interactions of your group.

 

Public Tours including:

  • Historic Core – Arts District – Chinatown – Brewery Art Colony
    • 2 hr tour
    • 30-45 minute meet & greet
    • No more than0.6 mile walk
  • Private Tour
    • 230-3 hr tour
    • May include catering, drinks, + tour
    • No more than0.6 mile walk
  • Gallery Nights LA
    • 2 – 3 hr tour
    • Will include 1 – 3 locations.  Drinks and Hors d’ oeuvres
    • No more than0.5 mile walk

 

Is it safe to walk in Los Angeles?

Yes. Our top priority at Dot Red is our guests’ safety. We have designed each of our tours to avoid questionable areas of the city. On some occasions, you will walk down streets with underdeveloped neighborhoods but we limit this as much as possible. In addition, prior to each tour we have a safety briefing with our guides to make sure you understand how the tours will operate before the tour so you’re aware of procedure in case you don’t see the group.  We also require that each guest have their email and paper itinerary. We also ask guests to be aware of text message alerts when we leave/arrive locations along the tour, so if guests have lost the group they can still catch up to the group.

 

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

We highly recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance of your preferred tour date. By doing so, you’re guaranteed a spot. Tickets may be purchased online at least two weeks in advance or via phone within 1 week of tour reservation preference. There are no “walk-ins” unless otherwise expressed because location meet-ups change frequently.  You can buy the tour of your choice online or via phone.

 

Can I buy artwork on the tour?

YES. Yes, you can.  Our trained team are also agents who would be more than happy to help facilitate art purchases.

 

Will there be food and beverages served on the tour?

We frequently begin our tours by meeting in a restaurant, so we encourage people to visit early so they can take advantage of the food and drink menu. The tour price does not include food. However, we typically have a special deal with the restaurant that guests can take advantage of.  This information is shared in the itinerary confirmation email.

 

Am I required to sign a waiver?

All of our guests are required to sign a waiver before they depart on the tour. If you have members of your party that are under 18, you will include them on your waiver and sign on their behalf.

 

Are any of your tours in the evening or continue after dark?

Yes, our private tours can be later in the evening but they must be reserved at least two weeks in advance.

 

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Should Dot Red Art Tours need to cancel a tour due to inclement weather, we will contact you a day before the tour. Our policy is to offer you the opportunity to reschedule your tour for a different day or to offer you a refund for the tour. When you book your tour, please be sure to include your cell phone number or a local number where we can reach you, as well as an email address.

 

Is there access to restrooms on your tour routes?

We encourage our guests to use the restroom when we meet at the restaurant.  There are spots on the tour that will have a bathroom which will be designated on the tour.

 

Can children take your tours?

Yes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Are there any special arrangements I can make for my children or family?

A very popular option for families traveling with children is to book a private tour. Your expert guide will be assigned to your group and you’ll find the experience a bit more personal and fun for the kids. When booking you will be provided an option to make it private.

 

I noticed in the reservation form that I have to provide a phone number. However, I’m not from the United States and I only have a foreign number. What should I do?

Not a problem, you can provide a foreign phone number and/or the name of the hotel you are staying at in LA.

 

Where are we going to finish the tour?

We will always finish our tour at a different location than when we started. Our guides, however are more than happy to guide guests back to the original location if they need assistance.

 

We know that we will like the tour and we want to do other tours and visit places close by. How can we arrange that?

Feel free to visit our webpage to reserve participation in other tours and events that we support. You can also talk with your tour guide after the tour and she/he will assist you.

 

I just completed my reservation. Should I print the confirmation and bring it with me on the day of the tour?

Our reservation system is completely integrated and we don’t require a print out of the confirmation. However, if you want to print it and bring it with you, please do so.

 

We are a big group and we are curious if you offer group discounts?

Absolutely! If you have a group of more than 6 people, please send us an e-mail at info@dotred.co and we will be happy to arrange it.
