Activated by the Kinfolk app, this AR sculpture depicts Biddy Mason. An enslaved woman forced to walk for the journey from Texas to California, Biddy Mason successfully fought for her freedom and that of her children when she arrived in California. She worked as nurse and acquired property in what is now Downtown Los Angeles. Using Kinfolk app, users can view the monument anywhere in the world, dramatically reimagining monuments’ relationship with space.
